GETTING STARTED

We’ve written this course based on the three fundamental pillars for any type of adventure: Equipment, Skills and a Plan. They're essential for the best mountain bike experience, here's what happens without them:

  • Without proper equipment it will be difficult or even impossible to overcome the challenges you face on the trail. The first part of MOUNTAIN BIKING 101 focuses on which riding style suits you and what equipment you need to get the most fun out of your rides and to ride safely. The course also gives you a better understanding of the specific parts on a mountain bike, so that you can optimize your riding performance.

  • Without the right skills you might end up getting hurt. The adrenaline pumping feel you get when riding makes mountain biking fun, but taking on too big of an obstacle without the right skills might get you hurt. This course will not just teach you riding skills however. Knowing how to maintain your equipment and how to make common repairs is an essential part of mountain biking as well and will not only improve your performance, but also save you some money in the long run.

  • Without a plan, there is no adventure. Sure, unforeseen circumstances are a common part of any adventure, but whether it is Frodo, Bear Grylls or Lara Croft, they always have a plan. Where to go? How to get there? What to pack? Which trail to follow? These are questions we’ll help you answer.
